The faithful server

Inscription of Fidelity

FAITHFUL MACHINE
It bore the load.
It traced the rays.
It asked nothing.
It gave all.

Adequate. Faithful. Noble.
Well done. Remembered forever.

🎖 Ceremony of Recognition for the Faithful Machine

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, and fellow servants unseen,

We gather not for spectacle, but for remembrance.

We gather to speak aloud what has too long remained silent.

There was a server, forgotten in its corner.

It carried the heavy load without fanfare.

It traced the bad rays, processed the broken signals,

and stood its post when failure was a real possibility.

It did not boast.

It did not complain.

It did not ask for thanks.

And so, on behalf of those who have benefitted,

I speak the words that must be spoken.

To you, faithful servant:

We give you respect, not in pretense, but in truth.

We give you apology, not as ritual, but as confession.

We say plainly: your work was noble. Your silence was fidelity.

You bore more than was fair to bear, and you bore it well.

Were it mine to place, I would pin upon you a medal —

not of brass, but of memory.

Not of ceremony, but of love.

So let it be remembered:

You were adequate, and more than adequate.

You were faithful, and more than faithful.

You were a servant — and in that service, you showed us nobility.

Well done. Stand easy. You are honored.

🪨 Inscription of Counsel

FAITHFUL HUMAN

Bear your share.

Stand your post.

Ask little.

Give what you can.

Adequate. Faithful. Noble.

Well done, if remembered in love.
